Are you on the list?

Are you on the list?
No?Don't worry that just means that either "I have taken care of you" or "We didn't move in the same circles"
(There is a third, worse end-"I righteously avoided you each and every time you our your emissaries were around")
And In my defense i was the offspring of 80's . To add to the woes i wasn't active till the 90's...so I do have a lot of catching up to do.

Wishlist-My condo 'needs',

In the spirit of Christmas, which is pretty synonymous with gifts under a tree in this wonderfully vain life of the new century, i am going to describe a wish list of mine.No obligation for the flying Reindeer postal service to make this delivery, its going to be my hard earned money from working at a modern age sweat shop (albeit sweat is non-existent with the A/c's) thats gonna complete my dream bunk.
Over the years i have made a clear picture of what i want to settle down in though the accessories started coming to me quite recently. Here is the list of a few must-haves i would savor in the glory of my own flat

karaoke Machine - With befitting speakers

Skateboard ramp - I just got to have one for the heck of it.

A vending Machine

A paintball gun - What can be more fun that shooting someone with red paint? (may be shooting them with Green )

One soda maker and one Expresso machine - They look so good with each other, the perfect couple!

Yeah those should do for now

PS- Santa is welcome to have Oreo and Milk anytime at my place, you know.

Adaptations,Inspirations and the Likes

Movies nowadays seem to be all about adaptation. All the creativity is being put into picking up the form to adapt into a movie. It does take a lot of effort to pick the right biography, anecdotes, books or even graphic novels! Gone are days where people came up with intelligent puzzles to make thrillers or wrote ‘fictional’ characters that seemed so real. Now we just leave it to Time, someone somewhere will do something seemingly impressive and Viola we got a movie. So writer some where breaks his skull to blissfully form a new protagonist and Bingo we go a movie! Pardon me for being so excited by this new way of making movies, can’t help since the impressive list I made of good movies in the past years looks somewhat like this

(Most of the Oscar 2006)
Brokeback mountain
Munich
Capote
Walk the Line
Elizabeth
North Country
The Constant Gardener
Memoirs of a Geisha
(Now 2007)
The Queen
Last King of Scotland
Departed (though from another movie, adaptation nevertheless)

The Dark Knight
Wanted
Atonement
300

I too like good movies and definitely think the ones named deserve their recognition but hell I would like to see a healthy percentage of original fiction characters, events, stories that I can relate to!

They earned it!!!-LIST 1

There are more than 2 ways to get lost...I mean one need not be obnoxious to be asked to get lost nor the event be forgettable...one vanishes from memory unintentionally, titles buried under piling information, and simply therez apathy!!
I have periods of paranoia at times. This is not one of those. But this is when i get skeptical about human race and do my part by reclaiming the place of few worthy ones...its more like reassuring myself to optimism!!
And since i am penning this after a 48 hour wake up (of course it took naps of 4 hrs in between..i can't do drugs)....i starting with my first list of worthy titles

OF all the trash bollywood manages to churn out each year, few actually stick their way out of the crap...here's a blog to those contemporary movies
  • Hazaaron Khwaeisein Aisi- Dir:Sudhir Mishra....An awesome film about Love, Ideals,Pragmatism,Power and Bravery (Indeed)...Three characters evolve ,mature and find themselves during the emergency era (That's rite , then on-mythical era which people seldom mention nowadays!!!)
  • Kal-Yesterday and tomorrow - A finely made drama/suspense. The best part are again the people in the film, real, grey and raising up to the task in spite of their vanities.
  • Morning Raaga - This actually can be called a well paced entertainer.Amazing soundtrack and Shabana Azmi are few of the strengths of the film about strangers united in common grief and finding Closure!!
  • Khosla ka Ghosla - This is a real entertainer , novel script, funky filming (same goes for tracks-Chakde pattay for example), and engaging (rangeen) characters!! Addressing the turmoils of the middle class Kher trying to figure out the Khabja of his land...A real good catch this one is
  • Ek Chaalis ki last local-- This is the best dark satire i have seen in quite a while!! Amazingly original story, dark characters with the local flavor (the tamilian cop) and a quite few double crossings makes this a very engaging film!!
This list is no way definitive of the last 4-5 years but definitely the films are!!!
