"It's shocking how many kinds of addiction exist. It would be too easy if it were just drugs and booze and cigarettes. I think the hardest part of kicking a habit is wanting to kick it. I mean, we get addicted for a reason, right? Often, too often, things that start out as just a normal part of your life at some point cross the line to obsessive, compulsive, out of control. It's the high we're chasing, the high that makes everything else fade away.
The thing about addiction is it never ends well, because eventually, whatever it is that was getting us high stops feeling good and starts to hurt. Still, they say you don’t kick the habit until you hit rock bottom, but how do you know when you’re there? Because no matter how badly a thing is hurting us, sometimes letting it go hurts even worse."

Read this...so true. That's all I've got for a response right now, I'm only a 1/2 cup of coffee into my morning. :)
Your blog is great, friend. I'm going to bookmark it.

A bit late in my response, but nonetheless...
I really dont think its all that hard to judge when things get out of control...A classic case really of trying to make the simple, complex and of making the complex, impssible!!
I mean, I've always believed that unlike popular perception, life aint half as complicated as we humans make it out to be...Yes, you need to be mentally very strong to survive but then again, to develop that kind of an attitude isnt much of a challenge...And once that is taken care of, addictions and all such evils can become a thing of the past...
Hmm, a pretty long comment, kinda preachy as well :| But I sincerely believe that living a life on principles isnt all that tough a task...In fact it isnt a task at all ;) As they say, jus KISS, i.e Keep it simple stupid :D :)
