Bohemia
Legs crossed,a grey suit sat on the pavement,
The hair wasn't allowed by the forehead and the dark eyer, were
well,dark.
This looked like the place we could find them,
this other end of the town,
the mighty river here, don't people drown?
The town square formed a impressive canvas for him,
the hawkers of erstwhile kingdoms,
the old ladies on their chairs,
the gypsies spelling fortune,
and then them
I was told its this part where i could find them now,
only here,
"where",I said,"where exactly you think i should be?"
A pony tailed teen walked over, not a single tatoo on him
but the friendly smile suggested a nice pierce
This part it is,
jobs that pay you enough to get the beer for your girl on saturday,
where a can beer on the door suggests the party,
and you live in the night,
this night.
Here i should find them,so i clutched some exotic air and shouted
"Can I ge some writers?"

Wishing and hoping and....
You know the gypsies, they were smart people-may be a little eccentric and unclean and illiterate and may be even a brief stint as conmen but(And a big BUT -FACE is made by the narrator) smart they were.Apparently they cursed by saying "May you get what you wished for"...ooh yeah ,they were the Firsts to recognize the sense of sarcasm the God person possess(besides the power to live forvever,do anything,be anywhere and play a little -collect the souls-with 666 till 'the End').
Not that one should complain to be at the recieving end of such a well worded cursing, but we humans who are made as the cheap pirated pop up version of God can't be smart enough to handle the granted wishes. And it would be so God-like to expect us to handle that,i mean we were sitting of tree tops ,warding fleas and eating bananas not that long ago...we just evolved from literally going -for-bananas to the figurative going bananas(For those of you who are dissappointed at the way life worked out for humans, you can always console in Darwins Evolution theory -Thinking Genesis to be responsible for speaking apes ,not that comforting,we wouldn't want that!we can blissfully blame the science). So as we seem handle everything else in the manner beffitting the most evolved life form on planet Earth(the 3rd rock from that big star with 8 or 9 or 10 rocks around it...for all ya outsiders) ,i expect nothing less while handling wishes that came true.May the moronity continue its path till the End
*For those of you who don't see a point in the blog----good observation skills
**For those who actually see a theme...i promise i will work even harded to write about nothing the next time...its a work in progress
*For those of you who know i do exist in the real world (the non-matrix one you geeks),i am now ready to spread the whack at XIMB*
Now it is such a bizarrely impossible coincidence that anything so mind-bogglingly useful could have evolved purely by chance that some thinkers have chosen to see it as a final and clinching proof of the nonexistence of God. The arguement goes something like this:
"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," say Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't though of that" and promply vanishes in a puff of logic.

Is this story well?
I read Kite Runner some time back, loved the narrative element of the novel but laughed to death at the accommodating ending. Its sad to see a book hold so much promise and then fall into the clutches of cliched easy-way-out plot.I do wish the writer didn't bargain a reality for closure.sad.
Makes me wonder if bestsellers often play out on the miserable elements of life to gather fan base rather than portray the whole scenario. Its like all things happy are not desirable when playing on roots and ethnic characters.I am not sure i can say a "God of small things" or any other flavored book is an fair insight. There is something about the success of tragedy that makes people hold it as a more true account of the state of affairs, thats tragedy enough!Few Romanians were complaining on imdb forum how the movie - 4 Months,3 Weeks and 2 Days-gave a crooked account of the current situation.I have to agree that the creative individuals are falling prey to a new form of conformism, they find focusing on the dirt specific to a society increasing its authenticity and ethnicity. It just makes me feel they aren't putting the effort to see beyond the bling bling tragedies! I might be completely out of line here, but i am a little confused global viewer-the news channels have agendas and the movies or books are letting us down.May be we need to be shown better understanding of WHY they exist or HOW it can be changed rather than just reporting the tragic heart wrenching stories.Conformism ,which isn't the primary motive ,is hard to be pointed out.
There was a discussion earlier on a forum as whether to call Oscar Wilde a "free thinker" or not. Just completed "Picture of Dorian Gray",Oscar Wilde's only novel. On the face of it the book seems to be rebellious with its homosexual undertones and pursuit of senses, but the cynic in me wonders whether disguising the sexual implications was an act of conformism by Wilde! Then again i can't make a stand unless we weigh this in relation to the society during Mr.Wilde's time, because he might have broken a taboo for those times! All this discussion leads to the ultimate question on the definition of free thinker and conformist. How much importance should be attached to these labels to begin with? Granted that our societies are imperfect,to say the less, and a man should apply his discretion in his actions. There is this speck of good in the society and does conforming to those aspects be tabooed by the radicals?May be thats where a free thinkers part ways with the radicals and rebels of the world!

God is like Ashton Kutcher!
In the end,the very end;Not those whole scale Armageddon end mate but me talks about reaper in the rear- end! One has all these questions about what your life was worth*,what will happen "After", and boom you are dead.
There are floodlights all over ,shining with mighty glory, you are wondering whats going on and in enters Ashton Kutcher saying something. But the word that is important to you is "punk'd"
Thats pretty much "The Truth" is, we are all part of a huge cosmic joke of punk and punk'd.
*Except for those with the genetic make up on lines of Homer Simpson.

Party? Why does it happen to me!
"Akka, My birthday on 1st.Do come"
So its official. The Gods, angels and the bouncers above have made me a regular in their private joke feature.Thank you,i feel privileged. Now i am gonna drag my bored ass to a party on the first day of a new 200. A party for 1st grader. Lucky me. All i had to do was give a gift, clap while the candle blows off and then mumble to a rendition of Happy Birthday which would go like "Happy Birthday to you...*mouthing Nirvana's Lithium* ...HappY-Birthday-TOO-Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!".So how bad can it be,right?
Then i gave it a few moments of thought.*Not a smart choice if you have no exit strategy*
What if the mommie and daddy lovingly plan a real party with things like-games,clowns and dinner. Now i am in a soup.Common once you are over the wet-tee-aint-so-cool phase, does any party game under PG-13 make you not feel stupid???. The only fun thing one can do with clowns is to make them sweat so their make up looks like that of evil witch, which,my friends, many have tried and failed at!
Now with minutes to face the fiesta of balloons, baby cries, ribbons and other stuff that used to be amusing in another age,i sit typing this memoir, while I Can.All i can do is face it with guns blazing!
Amen!

I want bread
Apparently finding good bread in my neighbourhood call for the IMF, ah well i am a pretty good agent and the day was saved! (Though it took a full 3 hours of me going to every other store that stocked food and asked for fresh ,nice, brown bread),making it official
Brown Bread - Holy grail number 5
I finally paid visit to the friendly neighbourhood makeshift Video rental .Its amazing how they pack these cd's these days in plastic bags,to be hiked at the moments notice of attack of the lawful brigade *grins*. I didn't find the movies i wanted but still ended up with 3 ,its like kids at Disneyland, everything seems fantabulous with enough clowns and costume guys! Gonna make Will Smith woo me for the 4th time killing zombies(Though my favorite was when he played the smart cop accusing robots of murder, the aliens punching wasn't bad either).
PS - On the subject of zombies, best friends shoot their friend when he turns into a zombie.period.

Wishlist-My condo 'needs',
In the spirit of Christmas, which is pretty synonymous with gifts under a tree in this wonderfully vain life of the new century, i am going to describe a wish list of mine.No obligation for the flying Reindeer postal service to make this delivery, its going to be my hard earned money from working at a modern age sweat shop (albeit sweat is non-existent with the A/c's) thats gonna complete my dream bunk.
Over the years i have made a clear picture of what i want to settle down in though the accessories started coming to me quite recently. Here is the list of a few must-haves i would savor in the glory of my own flat
karaoke Machine - With befitting speakers
Skateboard ramp - I just got to have one for the heck of it.
A vending Machine
A paintball gun - What can be more fun that shooting someone with red paint? (may be shooting them with Green )
One soda maker and one Expresso machine - They look so good with each other, the perfect couple!
Yeah those should do for now
PS- Santa is welcome to have Oreo and Milk anytime at my place, you know.

I think two most dangerous words used nowadays are -GREATER GOOD!
If someone uses that to persuade you, slap him and run fast the other way.Period
There is no great or less good in Greater Good...all it means is "Hi, You have to do something,it seems insane, evil and corrupt but trust me it will do good in future..Okay?"..No shit

Hold on to the gasp!
I was once in college.I was trying to label a flavor to my time at the altar of education, graduate brotherhood following around PHD priests. It takes time to recollect, for my adept brain should have repressed lot of hours spent.Hours accounted by the ceremonies handed down from generation of founding morons which the brothers follow with devotion or apathy, hours of embarrassing blank faces on pop quizzes, hours of operation Time Fly Away looking at the grazing cows(or was it Bull?) from the bars of the class room.As those hours became clear 1024 pixel pictures in my head,I realized it wasn't that horrid, but definitely stupid and fun,my kind of life (In retrospect life dangerously looks, rosy)
Granted I had my fair and long share of vehement effort to be useless, achieved by years of experienced blind eyeing, but the moments of brilliance flickered periodically! It wasn't as pretty as those teen movies with b rating from critics that collect MTV awards but it was my one and only shot and it hit some bull mouth!
The brilliance of the period is illustrated in these short tales
Let the sleeping dogs lie
Our one and only surrogate stray dog had made it a habit over years to bask under the concrete and electrical buzzing of the classrooms. It had even proceeded to shun the social activities of shitting, barking and wagging fleas once a week to rest in the spa. It was admired for sticking to its routine even in face of uncooperative environment created by lecturers, wielding sarcasm, notes checks, pushing us to front rows--all the regular sore! It had inspired us to be a log through all the ebbs and lows of eccentricity from the other end!
But one particular professor was known to have excelled in the art and had made generations hear, fear and finally doze dear..such was his power. His reputation was greeted with the mockery so characteristic of naive youth,as we prepared for his class. As he proceeded towards the blackboard ,our dog turned his head,as if acknowledging the new presence. He went forward with the ceremony called teaching and our dog lowered its head, hmm guess appraisal was done! IF the dog can be the log so can we...after a few minutes a cloud of uneasiness spread through the class, to our astonishment we were hearing and the words and the pace hurt the head! The mundane and the obvious bit through our sense. It was the attack of THE Dumb but we had our dog,our log of strength to look up to.
In a flash of the light, he rose, fired a look in the direction of the prof and walked out. He elegantly walked out! He who probably doesn't even understand what was being said,he who CAN't even be bothered by that, made a choice to exit. I was still hanging around with the -chicken-with-its-head-chopped-off- face when my prof proceeded to layout the time line for the whole sem!Why they have to make dogs leave and students sleep? In retrospect,How!!!!!

IF the dog can be the log so can we...after a few minutes a cloud of uneasiness spread through the class, to our astonishment we were hearing and the words and the pace hurt the head! on lemons
"If life gives you lemons make lemonades"
The thing is, i don't like lemons anymore.I want grapes to make wine.
Lemons were good as a kid but now that i have crossed the legal under age limit, became more exposed to the way of the world and corrupted by it, i cant take any more lemons.no sweetheart lemonades are a no-sale!
*When was the last time some kid sold 1c lemonade on his front lawn?See even they want their ps3's!

good ole times
We hosted lunch for our maama today. Its some traditional brother-sister ritual! Since mom was planning a relatively extensive menu for lunch,i ended up having breakfast @ local dosa center. Barring the unfortunate incident of a missing chutney packet, the takeaway was tasty.
Noon came and as this lazy bones was trying to shake off the drowsiness, maama, maami and bhayya arrived, dot on time or a little early.Heck. And then began the best sound of my life six voices all talking at once ,possibly about 4 different topics. I love this part where everyones trying to figure out who is talking to them and about what! Since we still had an hour to spend before lunch, gup chup began to flourish! With a little aid from the cable network, everything from Diwali cracker local black market to the cultural diversity of Paris was discussed. After a healthy number of reviews were exchanged about the latest movies, eateries and e-shopping all eyes were on the idiot box.Poor thing under the pressure of expectation ended up showing only repeat telecasts!!..ah the pressure to perform is damaging. We had the ask of choosing between watching POTC-2again or tolerating Mi3, Jack sparrow won! (Tom Cruise+ Repetitive style* of JJ had to lose one a sunday!). Captain Jack and the rest of crew (including the mutant octopus) provided a comforting background score.
The meet was going great, i got know of good places to but pirated dvd's and finally a place to have royal faluda (I badly miss faluda at shalimar!). We got to share the diwali rangoli pics and tales from work.Yeah the usual. It starts with my cousin "my boss is crazy",me going "wait till you hear of mine "and then my dad, maama saying you kids think you have to complain..."we have war wounds"
The lunch was accompanied by a new wave of queries about food and discount on retail...well we got to cash in on diwali ..who doesn't? "Is the non-stick pan's 20% discount better than getting free Kadai?" or "how the hell your milk don't get spilt while making the sweet?"
Thankfully we had this wonderful movie on air, which amazingly all the parents present seem to admire like hell (and for once me and my cousin had to shut up since we were clueless)
Apparently come september is a big hit with our folks. We can't talk at the start because the music accompanying the titles is a hit (and it only comes that once). After that we voluntarily waived our rights to talk, the movie was lovely! Man i found a worthwhile company to Gregory Pck,Rock Hudson.*
Hudson is beyond good looking,he is charming .Add to that his splendid voice! The commercial breaks brought with it
me"I cant believe i havent seen this guy till now."
Couz"Movie is so funny"
maama:"Is it paris"
me dad"italy?"
mom"what a track"
maami "big hit""
Me"i cant believe you folks never mentioned this ,we talked about roman holiday all the time"
Couz"thats a great movie"
All" ah peck and hepburn :sigh:"
Me"I still cant believe.."
dad cuts it to say "Don't be ridiculous, we introduced him to you ,ice station zebra"
Me"that was him, in my defense i was not even 10 and all i remember of it is i loved it and ice and submarine"
....
And so dined the families in the ambiance of great food, movies and chat *grins*
*If anyone watched even a single episode of alias you would have expected MI3,man Hunt could have been Bristow easily!
** Planning to watch few others of my new "rock"star..any suggestions(Besides come September and ice station zebra)
What better way to end the day than with a plate of chole batura and Corr's Lough Erin Shore *bliss*

The Dark knight
The cast is finalized, the posters are out,the debates have begun!! Lets join in the fun!*
Being a Batman fan, i must say i was delighted when Bale was scheduled to play the part.He fit the part of troubled Bruce Wayne perfectly in Batman Begins! And the movie itself was well made, true to its name,it told how it Began! the villains played their part just like the allies.I liked the touch where they didn't turn Rachel gal into love interest. All this success ensured i have credible expectations from the next in line.
Here is what we know
Heath Ledger is cast as Joker(hinted at the end of the first movie)
He is gonna be accompanied by Two Face, played by aaron eckhart
Katie Holmes wont be back as Rachel Dawes, its gonna be Maggie Gyllenhaal
Christopher Nolan,Morgan freeman,Michael Caine,Gary Oldman are back.
I have my doubts about Ledger, what can i say Jack act is tough to beat("Gentlemen, broaden our minds"-lol).My bet is he pull another Grim'm' performance...argh!..Tommy was crazy two face but i think Aaron might do something good(i rather hope)...coming to katie declining a pay increase ,ah well..she got the Tom bug (the expert on psychology) Maggie was great in Monalisa smiling, but somehow i don't prefer her as Rachel.
There are numerous speculation that Rachel's arc will end in hands of one of our new bad boys!(most say Dent).A fair shot i think,i actually like the idea too!Fits into the Dark Knight transformation!
I always wondered why they didn't call at least one movie dark knight in that whole Batman Movie franchise, since Nolan did it i am not going to complain about him *grins*Just keep the fingers crossed and hope Bale looks even more irresistible(he had great talent since he was just a kid in japan) and the movie fantabulous..amen to that
*One check out the still sand posters on warner bros site and google images!

I HEARTILY ACCEPT the motto,
I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal laws will begin to establish themselves around and within him; or the old laws be expanded, and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings. In proportion as he simplifies his life, the laws of the universe will appear less complex, and solitude will not be solitude, nor poverty poverty, nor weakness weakness. If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
The above paragraph is from the final chapter of Walden, Conclusion.
I can never tread the path chosen by Thoreau ,at the same time can't help but be mystified by his passion. To adopt his thoughts ,even for a few hours is a delight in itself.
The first few hours succeeding my encounter with Civil Disobedience, were blissfully spent on examining one single man's freedom. Strange as it may seem, more than his beliefs it was his freedom from uncertainty that haunted me. There lived a man who was certain, certain enough to perform an experiment of his life. Even more intriguing is the aspect of conclusion ,he actually understood the ends of his experiment. I would be lying if i said i haven't envied Thoreau for This Freedom!
In my idealistic vision, Thoreau went ahead and found answer to his doubts. His passion had led him to his way as desolate as it might have been, and in the end he had answers. How i wish i can be so sure, not of my beliefs but at least the paths on which i can find them! I do not wish to categorize his character, its his end not mine.A glimpse of his peace would be just fine though :)
I am sure over time i will disagree with Thoreau on various aspects and i am looking forward to that time. For that would mean i have experimented with rules and lived a life of my definition. For that would have meant a moment of freedom!

The Dream
I once dreamed of a nights sleep though an fleeing eternity.Ages of wisdom and life fled across me,a numb creature in a sabbatical for existence. When it was broken and consciousness regained, I became aware of the new world. A world i was part of yet isolated from in sense and purpose. I was a stranger amidst anew conscious of the world that vaguely resembled my entire life. There was a fresh estrangement that hung in the air for i was struggling to recognize the loss.
The very thought that i had even felt the loss began the process of indulgence in the neo-life.Even though i was a stranger with no threads to trace back to any life, over time the world of Present engulfed me. That struck to me as inevitability playing its most prominent trick, with sheer elegance. I acquiesced to the forces and started to pick the trinkets and pieces that formed a definition and proceeded to weave a new fabric. The fabric that would ease my transformation ,to accept the old forgone (till then nonexistent) Common Past and to define my part in the Present.
The Creature slowly revisited all the ideas of any world and learned the rules of the new game.It proceeded to become the part of a geography it was evidently a part of and created the new Myth. Here is how it was told - There was once a creature who wanted to be lost in the time and escape all threads so it can find the perfect view of it all.It was so perplexed by the new view that it forgot the view would be lost at the precise moment of its realization!
